Our team is part of the pre-eminent group within Splunk that provides deep cybersecurity knowledge and experience and shares that with the broader team. We help scale product sales, incubate new products, develop and support alliances and partnerships, and provide top-level security expertise support for our sellers.

We partner with other teams inside Splunk, including sales, sales engineering, customer success, partners, security marketing, security product management, and our security strategists to deliver outstanding value and insights our internal and external customers. This role is a blend of cyber security SME and knowledge of cybersecurity product sales acumen.


Scaling Sales & Partnerships:

  • Developing and delivering enablement materials to the sales organization and security onboarding content for all employees
  • Developing customer facing content, then teaching others by ‘putting your brain in a box’ and bring it along on their calls
  • Identifying sales play ideas, then developing content, and enablement to our sellers and partners

Incubating new products and offerings:

  • Develop and pilot sales plays and strategies for new in-house developed products – telling the new stories
  • Execute and operationalize the beta and product introduction process
  • Partner with strategists to develop integrated field sales and tech sales enablement for new products

Providing top-level deal customer concern support:

  • Mentor new sellers through their ramp up period, or on challenging customer situations and assist with account planning and strategy
  • Provide ‘been there/done that/got the t-shirt’ deep domain knowledge in cyber security to our customers and sellers
  • Work directly with CISOs and other leaders at our customers to build a vision and transform their cybersecurity programs, including deep-dive, on-site workshops


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience sales or technical sales within a cybersecurity supporting role
  • Experience helping sales teams close security deals at both small and large customers ($50K to $5M)
  • Previous success with building security sales plays, enablement content.
  • Experience with SIEM, UEBA and SOAR technologies, and with both competitive and complementary technologies to Splunk and Cloud based security tools
  • Ability to travel 50%, preferably located near a major airport within the continental United States
  • CISSP, CCSP, GIAC certification, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with security frameworks and models like CIS Controls and MITRE ATT&CK a plus
