Senior Security Engineer SCR Practice (Secure SDLC)


You will work closely with all our internal development teams to ensure we build in security from day one and follow best practices.  Ideally you will have a solid development background and have progressed to be a security expert. Your ability to keep up to date on all new security challenges and work with our teams to develop protection mechanisms is key.  


You will be primarily responsible for ensuring the success of secure code review and static analysis tool implementation within Splunk.




  • Develop software security guidance including training material, best practices, secure coding checklists, reusable code/libraries, etc.
  • Automate security testing at scale by building and implementing static analysis tools.
  • Significant hands-on experience with at least one industry standard static analysis tools (e.g., Checkmarx, Veracode, Fortify SCA, Coverity, AppScan Source)
  • Experience writing custom rules for SAST tools and tuning tools to prevent noise
  • Expert in software security
  • Experience in C++, JavaScript, Python development
  • Knowledge of security products, industry standard authentication and authorization protocols (SSL/TLS/SAML/Oauth)
  • 5+ years total experience

  • Ability to identify security vulnerabilities through a combination of manual code reviews and static analysis.
  • Your depth of knowledge in current and trending security vulnerabilities.
  • Secure SDLC experience.
  • Ability to work one on one with development engineers to help design and embed security features within our systems
