Sales Engineer, Enterprise Northeast
Location:  Anywhere in the greater New England area (MA, CT, NH, RI, VT)

Splunk is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to join our dynamic presales team! Working together with Splunk’s direct sales team on the technical aspects of selling Splunk’s products within our Commercial business sector. Our customers span all industries and sizes.

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

  • Demonstration of Splunk products and services to customers in a number of venues in including streaming and on-site meetings and trade shows.
  • You’re an excellent writer and communicator, an outstanding storyteller, and you love the craft of documentation. Your communication skills and shine across platforms, whether proposals, articles, emails, presentations, webinars, or in person.
  • Organized and analytical, you will be able to eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches.
  • IMPORTANT: We can teach you the technology, guide you on soft skills and educate you on processes. You should have a strong sense of self-motivation, and curiosity as well as a good grasp of how to convey "the art of the possible" with technology.

 

Your experience includes:

  • 3-5+ years working in a professional environment.
  • A proven track record in technical sales and knowledge of technology.
  • Knowledge of Virtualization, Containerization, Network Administration, Architecture, and Management. Familiarity with the tools of the trade.
  • Capable on Unix or Windows and familiar with administrative practices
  • Experience in, or knowledge of IT operations, security & compliance, or DevOps.
  • Familiarity with scripting and programming languages.
  • Knowledge of technologies Map-Reduce, Hadoop, HBase, Cloudera, Cassandra a plus.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure will help you excel.

Note: Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location.  The base pay for this position is dependent on work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for bonus or commission and benefits, and may be eligible for equity.  

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range:  $138,000 - 189,750 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states. 

Base Pay Range:  $132,000 - 181,500 per year
