We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Splunk Observability team. As a backend software engineer, you will closely collaborate with Architects and Product Managers to design, implement and operate large-scale distributed systems, streaming data pipelines, and advanced algorithms that power the Splunk Observability and Network Performance Monitoring (NPM) products. We learn quickly through frequent iteration. We are passionate about solving customers’ problems. We have ambitious goals to create best-of-its-kind products. You will help us win in a fast-growing market.

At Splunk - NPM, we focus on eliminating cloud application failure by building tools that quickly and automatically pinpoint service disruption -- both caused externally from faults in cloud infrastructure and API providers and internally from bugs and configuration errors. The underlying tech is unique in its extremely low-overhead collection and analysis, its full coverage, and its ability to be deployed in minutes with no code changes or configuration. These allow Splunk to provide SREs and DevOps engineers with smart alerts and a complete, easy-to-read picture of their deployment -- dramatically accelerating fault resolution.

This role offers a chance to join a small, focused team within Splunk as we change the way engineers understand their production applications using observability tools.
