About the Role

Splunk is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our Security team as the Senior Director of DevSecOps and Identity and Access Management. This is a critical leadership position responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of our DevSecOps and Identity and Access Management programs. A successful Sr Director at Splunk is a self-starter, a natural problem solver, collaborative, and able to work well with adversity and ambiguity. You should have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, a deep technical understanding of modern cybersecurity threats, and a validated track record of a hands-on approach to leading and maturing programs in highly targeted environments at scale. Success for the role will be the delivery of a world class program that is positioned to address, contain, and drive successful resolution to any cybersecurity situation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for DevSecOps and Identity and Access Management that aligns with Splunk's overall security vision and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security best practices and ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the planning, engineering, development, implementation and administration of identity and access management systems through the use of controls, procedures, measurements and strategies to prevent unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, misuse, manipulation, or destruction of systems, networks, applications and data.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources for the DevSecOps and Identity and Access Management teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement and service delivery enhancements
  • Apply a comprehensive approach in the design of future state information security processes, infrastructure, tools, and systems
  • Advise all business units and project teams in the planning and inclusion of security controls to protect Splunk proprietary information, customer data, and employee personal data
  • Develop documentation for Splunk’s information systems strategy and structure, assessing risk posture, and supporting the addition of controls and technology where necessary to improve that risk posture
  • Ensure continuous integration of third party security tools with Splunk and supporting the monitoring capability of the Incident Response team

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of management experience in security with at least 5 years of experience in DevSecOps and Identity and Access Management.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Experience with leading IAM vendor solutions, including cloud SaaS solution
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to DevSecOps and Identity and Access Management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Help develop strategies, roadmaps and designs for large-scale organizations by promoting enterprise-wide growth and scalable solutions
  • Design enterprise infrastructure security environments by implementing best practices with a focus on service optimization, availability, security, functionality and scalability
  • Demonstrable experience managing a security architecture or security engineering function in an organization with a large cloud footprint
  • Demonstrated ability to evolve scalable security strategies based on research, data, business direction, and industry direction
  • Outstanding track record as an influential leader
  • Practical security background, with expert level knowledge of infrastructure security concepts including networking devices, identity services, web application security, encryption and endpoint security
  • Maintain hyper-current knowledge of threat landscape, attacker techniques and mitigations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the day-to-day tasks of diverse teams, while effectively influencing senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to develop teams and mentor staff
  • Proven ability to manage and facilitate annual operating budgets and strategic planning
  • Proven ability to thrive in ambiguity
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities

Note: Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $244,800.00 - 336,600.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $220,000.00 - 302,500.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $196,000.00 - 269,500.00 per year
