Senior Director, Global Services - Cloud Migration - Remote

In this role you will be accountable for the migration of customers to Splunk Cloud for the Professional Services organization. As a Senior Director in Global Services, you will set the vision for the organization, define execution strategies, and help shape delivery methodologies while fostering quality and ultimately customer success on every engagement. You will support the shift to expert services, assist in the transformation to Splunk Cloud, and drive an improved customer experience.


  • Build and supervise a team of 25+ Splunkers, and build out a robust global partner and subcontractor ecosystem in conjunction with Partner Managers and Global Alliances
  • Establish interlock and a highly matrixed Professional Services organization in alignment with the Chief Cloud Officer, tightly coordinated on GTM objectives and fiscal goals
  • Build out capability and capacity at a global scale leveraging expertise and industry knowledge for a world-class Professional Services organization focused on migrations to Splunk Cloud
  • Shape customer expectations and deeply align outcomes with customer requirements with a focus on business value in Splunk Cloud
  • Collaborate with individuals across the company from Product Management, Engineering, Product Marketing, Professional Services, Sales, Sales Engineering, Technical Enablement, Education, Customer Success Management, and Support.
  • Responsible for multiple internal projects, team utilization and financial targets, supports resourcing, setting team goals, defining measurement, and monitoring success; this may include experimental projects with new services offerings, tools, and/or methodologies
  • Own, manage, and maintain services offerings, mapping to sales plays and incentive programs, and aligning on enablement and delivery strategy
  • Own and manage technical project escalations through to resolution, safeguard the escalation process, ensure expectations are clear, and hold accountability cross-functionally throughout the organization
  • Assist in the creation of innovative solutions to accelerate adoption, reduce gaps in functionality, and shorten time to first value

  • 12+ years of software consulting experience, with considerable focus in Professional Services and implementation/integration of enterprise software solutions
  • 10+ years of experience managing, leading and/or delivering Professional Services, familiarity with financial modeling, capability and capacity planning, and P&L oversight
  • 10+ years of experience in the sale of Professional Services in customer-direct relationships
  • 10+ years of experience with GTM functions, including sales collateral, procurement methods, and contract management
  • 10+ years of experience managing technical, cross-functional Professional Services teams (e.g., consulting, implementation, trainers, project managers) and delivery subcontractors and partners
  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience with Splunk core and premium apps (ES, ITSI, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience leading the development of tools that interact with Splunk for the purposes of expediting Professional Services engagements
  • 5+ years of experience leading change, developing processes, implementing procedures and working collaboratively across organizations to achieve desired outcomes
  • Substantial demonstrated experience building and scaling a Professional Services business with accountability for financial targets
  • Proven experience building and leading a Professional Services organization and a team of 25+ individuals
  • Experience developing and coaching technical and leadership talent for both individual contributors and people managers
  • Experience performing Splunk Cloud migrations is required
  • Experience working with Splunk Cloud in a variety of cloud environments (i.e., AWS Public Cloud, and AWS GovCloud) is required
  • Experience building Splunk applications interacting with SmartStore/DDAA for data retention/migration is required
  • Certification from one or more of the “top three” cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) is required
  • Experience working with Splunk Engineering and Product Management to develop customer guidance around technical challenges is highly desirable
  • Possess deep knowledge and expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Expertise with Cloud native enterprise technologies (e.g., Containers, Kubernetes) including architecture, deployment
  • Expertise with apps for Splunk Cloud, familiarity with vetting processes, Splunk coding standards
  • Experience designing and developing applications for Splunk Cloud using advanced technologies like AI, Machine Learning, or Natural Language Processing
  • Organized with a healthy sense of urgency, able to set, communicate, and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities
  • Ability to quickly explore, examine, understand complex problems, devise action plans, and rapidly execute
  • Self-motivated and self-educating, always interested in keeping up with technology and improving oneself
  • Exceptional verbal, written, social, executive presence, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing environment while working remotely from other members of your team
  • Willing to travel up to 50% globally
