Senior Data Analyst and Visualization Developer

This role is based in Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, McLean, VA or fully-remote for well-qualified candidates.

We are looking for a hardworking senior data analyst and developer who understands how critical the meaningful analysis and communication of data is to the success of any organization. As a senior member of the Operational Excellence team you will be responsible for defining requirements, sourcing and analyzing data, and developing dashboards and visualizations to deliver meaningful insights and recommendations. You will directly deliver the results of your work to partners and drive awareness of its importance throughout the organization.

You will set standards for data sources including frequency and quality. You will work with engineers to build automated unit testing to validate accuracy and validity of reports and data integrity. You will mentor other data engineers and specialists. Experience troubleshooting and resolving data integrity and performance issues is important. Strong candidates will have excellent visualization skills and knowledge of industry standard visualization tools. Effective written and verbal communication with leadership and peers on both the business and engineering sides of the business is key. You should have a successful history driving engineering and operations teams toward a data driven culture. This role requires analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. You must be flexible, inventive, and focused on results over process.

You must possess the technical ability to identify and break down challenging technical problems in an agile, fluid environment; as well as design and implement solutions to those problems. Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data granularity is important.

A strong candidate will have at least 7 years of validated experience in the role including experience with data analytic related languages such as SQL, Jira Query Language, and R. Work experience at a hyper-scale cloud provider is strongly preferred. Experience with the Atlassian suite of products, Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Observability Suite or SignalFx is helpful.
