Splunk is looking for an individual to join its Security Product Management team. This position reports into the Senior Director of Strategy, Security Product Mgmt, and will drive a wide range of technical and business analytic functions. You will work cross-functionally across product management, engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success to understand Splunk’s security business, where we are succeeding and falling short, and where we need to focus our efforts.  The information and reports you generate will be used by senior leadership in Security and across Splunk overall to measure Splunk’s security business and plan for future investments.  Candidates will have outstanding partnership, analysis, and communication skills, as well as the ability to deal with the ambiguity that comes in a fast-growing organization.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports across a wide range of Sales, GTM, and Development metrics and product measurables for consumption by Security business leaders cross-functionally - analyze results, distill/synthesize business performance indicators, assess risk and operating performance, and communicate to management in a timely fashion.
  • You will need to be able to introduce improvements to improve accuracy of processing / reporting and ensure consistency.
  • Perform other ad-hoc analysis in partnership with others in security product management.
  • Develop and/or enhance policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and efficiency of the Security Premium Products group.
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.  
  • Knowledge and experience in process / operational / technology reviews, risk assessment required with the ability to construct well-targeted management reports within the context of business/industry operations/practices.


  • This role is for doers; be able to get into the details and get the job done while at the same time being able to see the forest for the trees
  • Superior forecasting methods and techniques. Advanced analytical and quantitative abilities.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of communicating complex information in easy to understand formats. Able to interact comfortably with senior management.
  • Ability to think creatively, with the highest standards of accuracy and precision 
  • Collaboratively-focused and able to work well with others in a fast-paced and ever changing business.
  • Comfortable completing projects requiring individual initiative and flexibility in tight time frames with minimal direct supervision
  • Experience in complex modeling (e.g., Cash Flow, Headcount, return on investment assessment, etc.).
  • Outstanding software and system skills (Excel/Google Sheets, Powerpoint/Google Docs, Salesforce, Aha, Jira, Confluence)


  • Bachelors Degree in STEM field required, MBA or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2+ years of product management or related experience required.  Additional experience in product marketing or M&A preferred
