Security Governance Analyst (US Remote Available)

Role Summary

The Splunk Security Trust Office (STO) is looking for a dynamic team member to play a pivotal role in our IT Governance team. Our focus is on demonstrating standard methodologies to extend our security program into the enterprise. We work hard, have fun, and are extremely passionate about security.

The successful candidate will research, develop, and manage complete, accurate, and executable security policies and standards to support our FedRAMP and ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) programs. They will be responsible for the dissemination and implementation of policies to the enterprise and maintain historical records/archives of policy documents. The individual encouraged to collaborate with various team members such as technology owners, compliance, legal and leadership teams. Additionally the candidate will continually assess, report and track the maturity of the related programs.

What you'll get to do

  • Documents and reviews new or revised policies, procedures, processes and/or related documents in support of business processes execution and in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinate with process owners to identify and help drive alignment of their procedures with the related policy requirements.
  • Update, improve, and manage document library on schedule and with proper approval.
  • Assist in identifying improvements to the processes for crafting, publishing and maintaining documentation.
  • Apply relevant quality, regulatory standards, for readability.
  • Understands impact of regulatory developments and compliance guidelines on standards and processes, interprets and applies within policy and procedure documentation.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to determine appropriate policy, procedure, and methods requirements.
  • Performs research and review documents to identify gaps in documentation.
  • Identifies, documents, and gathers related metrics and prepares reports as requested.
  • Analyzes efficiency of documentation and recommends improvement opportunities to management.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional experience in a related role.
  • 3+ years experience with writing, editing, and/or managing a wide variety of IT security documentation based on U.S. federal IT standards related to FIPS 199, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53 REV 5 and related procedures & standards.
  • Experience with writing, editing, and/or managing documentation of ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) program.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Experience with industry standard frameworks such as NIST, ISO, CIS, or PCI.
  • Excellent English language, grammar, and spelling skills for writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues and proactively identify solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize enhancements, manage workload and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to collaborate as a team member and deliver results.
  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
  • Experience and familiarity with cloud data security (FISMA/FedRAMP compliance) and cloud solutions (AWS, Google, and Azure).
  • US Citizenship required
  • Physically reside within the US

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $125,600.00 - 172,700.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $112,000.00 - 154,000.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $104,000.00 - 143,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
