Security Engineer, IAM (US Remote Available)

Role Summary

Seeking an outstanding Product Security Engineer, to support and improve internal processes, automation and tooling. Our team is responsible for providing end-to-end access for several government regulated and commercial cloud environments. You’ll partner with Prod IAM Enablement to maintain and elevate internal access and security related initiatives. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and focused individuals who have a real passion for urgency and efficiency and have strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), back end development, enterprise security standards, and automation.

What you'll get to do

  • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting of tooling and automation in support of the Prod IAM Enablement team and deliver solutions for Splunk Global Security risks, objectives, and initiatives.

  • Compliance: Keep the Splunk Cloud boundary in compliance with company policies, and procedures through ownership, enforcement and evidence gathering for CCF Controls.

  • Continuous Optimization: Identify gaps in processes/practices/framework/tooling, and design/drive solutions for higher efficiencies with the potential of across the organizational boundaries

  • Participate in On Call rotation (Tuesday to Tuesday once a month)

  • Build tools and automation for orchestrating access provisioning in Splunk Cloud.

  • Extend existing IAM and RBAC based services and platforms to improve partner capabilities, automating to reduce overhead while growing the number of groups supported and the overall complexity of the systems.

  • Identify use cases that can be built with new or existing tools and services to improve access to internal cloud systems.

  • Support the definition of requirements that enable innovative integrations and solutions.

  • Collaborate on the evaluation and test solutions with the intent of improving Splunk’s overall access control features and flexibility.

  • Partner with Service owners to implement Service Level Metrics & Service Level Objectives that act as service health indicators.

Must-have Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of the following : Okta, GitLab (Git workflow), JIRA, Slack, AWS, GCP, Azure, IAM, Linux, Kubernetes, Go(Lang)

  • 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor of Science/Arts in CS or EE degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated ability in a fast-paced security related enterprise environment

  • Effective communication and strong collaboration skills

  • Coding experience in two or more of Go, C/C++, Java or Python

  • Experienced with automating infrastructure with Go, CI/CD, K8s, Linux and other tooling (Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Kubernetes, etc).

  • Experienced with the setup/configuration/operation of CI/CD pipelines and source code control using GitLab

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately assess problems and requests from multiple perspectives, analyze approach feasibility, and decide on the efficient course of action.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen working on U.S soil.

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $125,600.00 - 172,700.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $112,000.00 - 154,000.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $104,000.00 - 143,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
