We seek an extraordinary Sales Leader (m/f/d) to join our German-based team covering the part of the German Enterprise market, known as the Commercial segment. You will play a key role in driving a significant share of the revenue for Splunk within Germany, by inspiring your team, lead from the front and understanding the needs of our key clients. 

Role Details: 

As a Commercial RSD (m/f/d), you and your team will grow a geographic-based business, in conjunction with our key partners operating in Germany. Your team will cover both net-new accounts and existing customers, and manage this customer base through an expanding set of partners. You will use your organisation, sales and leadership skills to help your team find, sell to and support both new and existing customers in your territory.  

This is a field-based role to lead the development of Splunk’s business in Germany, engaging customers with your team, as well as supporting the relationship with our most strategic partners. You will build a long-term strategic engagement with the Distributor and named Partners, and become a trusted advisor to all parties. 

Responsibilities: 

You and your team will meet/exceed assigned revenue goals in collaboration with colleagues from around the Splunk organisation. Specifically, you will: 

  • Develop and execute on a partner-first sales strategy for your region, including sales and marketing campaigns aligned with relevant partners
  • Build and develop partner and customer relationships at executive level to execute this strategy and communicate the business value of Splunk solutions
  • Lead your team to consistently deliver on sales revenue and renewal targets though the participation and productivity of the team
  • Develop, lead and run sales campaigns and motions, in conjunction with partners, to build customer value and sustainable revenue
  • Accurately forecast on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis, with attention to the product mix, linearity and seasonality of results
  • Effective leverage Sales Engineering, Business Development, Marketing and Partner resources for success, in line with our sales methodology and processes.
  • Provide timely and insightful input back to other corporate functions, particularly EMEA leadership, plus others such as product management and marketing.

Requirements: 

  • At least two years experience in hiring, building and coaching front line sales teams within a fast-growing enterprise software company
  • Very comfortable in the “C” suite: you have a record of closing six-figure software licensing deals. You have the ability to grow and scale upward with the company
  • Strong executive presence and polish, with extraordinary management, interpersonal, written and presentation skills
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing, rapidly changing environment while being able to work independently and remotely from other team members and colleagues
  • Relevant software industry experience in IT systems, infrastructure management, application development and management, security and/or analytics
  • Track record of success and knowledge with partners, prospects and customers in the defined territory
  • Our customers are very passionate about Splunk and you should also be passionate about the business, opportunities and projects you work on.
  • Understand sales tools like Salesforce, Tableau, Outreach, Cognism etc
  • Bring a growth mindset, with an ambition to improve how you work
  • Hold a bachelors degree preferably, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in speaking, writing and presenting in German and English

Note: 

OTE Range 

For sales roles starting salaries are expressed as On Target Earnings or OTE (OTE = base + on-target incentives in the form of sales commission plans). 

Germany 

On Target Earnings: EUR 144,000.00 - 198,000.00 per year 

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
