Marketing Data Analyst Intern (Summer 2021)

In this role at Splunk, you will work with some best in class Product Marketers and Marketing Operations experts to help us use data to make decisions about investments in future resources and programs. At Splunk we believe that turning data into doing is the most efficient way to grow, and we’re highly motivated to work smarter! The Product Marketing org at Splunk is responsible for crafting the messaging and positioning for our products and solutions in the market. With that responsibility, comes the management of many key stakeholders that provide input into that messaging and positioning. In this role, you will work to use the data we have related to our global enablement efforts, campaign content, event material, and marketing assets to determine areas where we should be investing resources.

Among the types of data you’ll be asked to bring together, will be asset performance, campaign performance, asset engagement, enablement scores, attach rates, event feedback, web content engagement, adoption rates, cloud migration, and much more. You’ll use your analytical skills to evaluate what we’re doing well, and where we can improve, to ensure we’re driving the business forward with optimal messaging both internally and in the market.


  • Analyze campaign and asset performance metrics to help drive decisions on additional investments
  • Review QoQ attach rate, and adoption metrics to inform existing customer behavior and opportunities for growth
  • Determine which metrics Product Marketing has the most influence over, across the organization and pursue the cleanliness of data to gauge our success.
  • Evaluate web engagement data and make recommendations on potential changes that will impact our conversion and engagement metrics on
  • Analyze usage data from the Field Enablement Portal to ensure maximum impact on enablement of the Global Field organization.
  • Think strategically about additional metrics within Product Marketing that can help us drive decisions on resourcing and investments.

Skill Requirements

  • 1-3 years of professional experience
  • Ideally has experience working with systems such as SFDC, Tableau, Bizible, Snowflake, Gainsight, Excel/Sheets
  • Ability to extract clean data and drive analysis with information from multiple systems
  • An interest in market research and the data platform, Security, IT Ops or DevOps space
  • Grit - If you don’t know how to do something, you have the tenacity to figure it out, and learn
  • No Travel Required

Education Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with emphasis on Data Science, Statistical Analysis, Data Driven Marketing, Operations
