Role Summary

Splunk, a Cisco Company, seeks a Chief Architect to help lead pre-sales architecture technical strategy and critical customer selling efforts in our AMER Enterprise business segment. This role will specialize in crafting complex software and hardware solutions tailored to specific business needs leveraging the full power of the portfolio of Splunk and Cisco technology. You will accomplish this by leading task teams to innovate leveraging the power of our current and future Security/Observability solutions and how they work better together with Cisco products to drive market leading business capabilities. A key to success will be accomplished by collaborating with some of the most complex strategic customers to understand and to solve their critical business challenges. The ideal candidate will collaborate across Splunk's cross functional teams and partners. This role will influence product direction, nurture a collaborative Solution Architecture community and foster durable customer relationships. Strong leadership, a growth mindset, and a customer-first approach are essential.

What you'll get to do

  • Lead multiple projects and task teams solving complex customer challenges
  • Collaborate directly with Solutions Engineering, Sales, Product and Technology to strategize on how best to leverage Splunk and Cisco’s complete portfolio.
  • Work closely with the cross portfolio leaders and teams to develop strategic, technical Go to Market plans and activities to drive growth.
  • Be the role model and mentor for the Solution Architecture team
  • Challenge the team to innovate across Security, Observability, and Enterprise including all Cisco products.
  • Work collaboratively with all cross functional teams to ensure the right strategies, products and services to succeed in the market.
  • Interact with customers, prospects and industry groups to understand their business challenges and desired outcomes.
  • Work with AMER Enterprise, Public Sector Sales and SE leaders, innovators and specialists driving unique business outcome strategies.
  • Provide technical deal strategy guidance and direct support on complex opportunities.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 12+ years of Pre-Sales, Technical Bachelors Degree or higher
  • 5+ year as a Solutions/Enterprise Architect or equivalent experience/education
  • Must have experience as a technical architect supporting various large scale complex customers: US Fortune 100 Commercial customers
  • Strong experience recognizing and leading the technical business strategy in the market
  • Proven track record of working and leading with cross functional teams
  • Experience selling and working with cloud-based and hybrid solutions
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure
  • Must have Splunk and Cisco Portfolio experience
  • Competitive knowledge of Primary competitors
  • Solution Architect and Industry certifications are a bonus
  • Technically curious, innovation oriented and able to articulate the value that technology brings to solving customer business outcomes
  • Proven executive communication skills – written and oral. Ability to communicate and lead complex ideas cross functionally across all levels both internally and externally
  • Strong ability to inspire others and motivate them to act with a sense of urgency and empowerment

Note:

OTE Pay Ranges

For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans).

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

On Target Earnings: $221,600.00 - 304,700.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states.

On Target Earnings: $204,000.00 - 280,500.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
