Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to help design, develop and deliver Splunk's User Behavior Analytics (UBA) which is a part of Splunk UEBA security analytics solution that detects known and unknown security threats at scale using big data and machine learning techniques. Delivered on customer managed resources using Kubernetes and Spark to run innovative stream processing and machine learning algorithms in near real-time, UBA helps security analysts quickly identify and resolve threats.

In this role, you will work directly with Engineering Leadership, Design Team, Customer Support team and other engineering teams to help derive the best experience for the customer. We have a lean process that focuses on empowering and serving our engineers as opposed to just directing them.
Responsibilities
- Achieve a deep knowledge of our product architecture, usage patterns, and real world use-cases in order to better understand what solutions will bring value to our customers
- Develop new product features, clarify and improve designs, and help put together a plan for how to make it happen (using Agile Methodologies)
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Technical Support Engineers and members of our team to design and create comprehensive end-to-end user workflows
- Keep product quality top of mind by extensively using Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD), testing technologies (unit, functional, performance), and best practices to ensure that the product is of high quality
Experience
Required:
- Python/Java and/or Scala programming experience
- Experienced with an Agile DevOps engineering environment that effectively uses CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, specifically a proven ability to effectively work with others within a dynamic environment and support team
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and to understand a wide variety of technical challenges to be solved
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement
NIce to have:
- Familiarity with streaming and distributed computing technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Postgres, cloud environments e.g. AWS
- Exposure to working with container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes, Kubernetes Operator Framework)
- Knowledge of distributed computing architectures and principles that solve for scalability, performance, redundancy and reliability
- Familiarity with Splunk Enterprise products
- hands-on experience with Linux distributions and knowledge of Bash scripting for automation, system management, and troubleshooting tasks

Base Pay Range
Poland
Base Pay: PLN 136,000.00 - 187,000.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
