Splunk’s IT & Business Applications organization is at the beginning of their Agile Transformation. We are looking for a fun, driven, creative, and seasoned Program Manager that has experience in coaching Agile and JIRA across both business and technical organizations. As the Program Manager you will own processes, and guidelines to support this transformation. You will also help teams across the company to successfully transition to Agile. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Partner with the Agile strategy team and Change Management to execute the IT Agile transformation
  • Understand and support implementation of Agile metrics to optimize delivery of OKRs/KPIs through the assessment of responsiveness, quality, productivity, and customer and business value
  • Utilize feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and partners with others to coach the program to continuously improve
  • Coach the program to improve collaboration, self-organization and Innovation
  • Agile & Technical Learning: Actively seeks and leads a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, conferences, classroom training and independent study to further develop self and community
  • Provide Agile coaching and training to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Agile change agents, functional managers, and the PMO
  • Teach, mentor, and coach teams on emerging Agile and Lean methods
  • Collaborate directly with development teams to coach and guide them on the mechanics of Lean and Agile methods to achieve optimal team effectiveness
  • Participate in both the external and internal Agile community to stay abreast of challenges, leading practices, and emerging trends; utilize learnings in furthering the effective use of Agile practices at Splunk IT
  • Create and deliver customized Agile training to all levels and Agile roles within the organization
  • Provide expert advice in discussions about Jira/Confluence governance, serving as an active member of the Atlassian governance board
  • Create and maintain documentation for training users on Jira/Confluence
  • Mentor potential/existing coaches and Agile change agents
  • Embrace servant leadership and displaying the behaviors that come from the adoption of Agile principles to foster a collaborative environment
  • Continuously assess the Agile maturity of teams and individuals at all levels, educating and mentoring to address gaps, support data driven decisions and drive continuous improvement
  • Contribute to PDLC process improvements by soliciting feedback, updating documentation, and coordinating rollouts
  • Expert at Agile ceremonies and can work to understand when and which ceremonies would create the best outcomes for teams
  • Track and champion best practices and processes
  • Identify roadblocks that challenge the move to Agile and either escalate, mitigate or resolve
  • Help drive cross-functional alignment and decisions required across IT’s programs and projects

Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified:

  • 6+ years of experience in program management and change management
  • 5+ years of experience as an Agile Coach
  • Certified Agile Coach certification and expertise and certifications in one or more Agile methodologies
  • Can influence and affect change at all levels of the organization without having positional authority, and you have experience communicating up to the Executive level of an organization.
  • Expert understanding of agile methodologies, principles, and practices, with demonstrated success driving all levels of the organization to higher productivity and efficiency
  • Proven track record of coaching, developing presentations, and facilitation skills, with experience doing each of these in a remote environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly articulate and express complex ideas to a wide variety of people and groups
  • Knowledge of and experience with successful Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and eXtreme Programming (XP), and one or more scaling methodologies, and their respective practices
  • Sufficient flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast paced environment including modifying practices to create a practical migration to Agile
  • Have excellent understanding of Agile release planning
  • Actively participate in the Agile/Lean community, internal and external to Splunk
  • Have experience with enterprise software and cloud technologies in an IT organization
  • Expert at decision-making, consensus building, resolving complex cross-functional team issues, building a collaborative and transparent environment of mutual respect, and conflict management

Knowledge/skills:

  • Knowledge of development methodologies, project planning and risk/issue management.
  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, & time management skills.
  • Familiar with System Development Life Cycle.
  • Familiar with multiple SDLC methodologies such as waterfall and Agile
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with Project management Software applications
  • Excellent team building and coaching skills.
