Role
In this role, you will be part of a team of product marketing professionals responsible for the positioning, messaging and integrated GTM of Splunk’s solutions targeted at IT organizations and IT professionals. You will learn about and help contribute to thought leadership, launching new solutions, and opening up new market opportunities for Splunk and our partners. You will help define meaningful ways to engage relevant personas and market use cases effectively. You will learn how to navigate market segments and produce the content necessary for the Splunk field organization and partners to drive opportunities. You should have a bias for action, a willingness to learn and a burning desire to win!
This role will focus on market and competitive research. You will be responsible for doing a thorough review of the IT Monitoring & Management competitive landscape (messaging, use cases, capabilities, etc.) and offering up recommendations to improve our competitive positioning and go-to-market strategy.

Responsibilities
- Conduct research surrounding the IT industry, competitors and market, using press releases, websites, social media and other data sources
- Leverage research on competitors in our space to help find market opportunities and improve product messaging and positioning
- Present consolidated research findings and suggestions to help inform business decisions
- Work closely with field sales, inside sales, marketing, professional services and competitive research team to help better understand our market and competitive landscape
Skill Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Graduate degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, Software Development, Engineering or similar fields
- Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills including an ability to create and deliver effective presentations.
- Must be a self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fast-paced software start-up environment.
- Knowledge of the IT industry a plus
