As IP Operations Paralegal at Splunk, you will support the efforts of the Intellectual Property team in protecting, managing, defending, and enforcing all of Splunk’s intellectual property, including developing Splunk’s world class patent portfolio. You will have responsibility for keeping a busy IP team in the legal department of a hypergrowth software company operating smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities will include patent paralegal duties, such as docketing patent prosecution matters, tracking inventions and new filings, resolving invoicing and budgeting matters, coordinating work with our extensive bench of outside counsel, coordinating with inventors, managing the inventor awards program, ensuring maintenance fees and annuities are paid, generating reports on the status of IP assets, and ensuring patent applications are prosecuted timely.
You will also serve as a project manager on important IP-related projects and explore new ways to improve the processes of the IP team, including administering, improving and training others on Splunk’s proprietary and custom-developed system for managing the patent prosecution workflow. You will also be asked to support IP team with trademark filings and trademark prosecution as well as with registering copyrights.
Location: This position will be based at the company’s headquarters in San Francisco, CA (SOMA) or San Jose, CA and will report to the Director of IP.
