Role:
The Intelligence Analyst will actively monitor multiple intelligence sources, to include open and closed sources, to identify risks and threats to Splunk employees, assets, and executives. You will notify appropriate partners of identified risks & threats and develop briefing products to clearly articulate the threat and proposed actions for mitigation. You will conduct risk assessments in advance of major company events and in support of major business decisions. Reporting to the Protective Intelligence Program Manager (Protective Intel PM), you will also conduct background checks on POIs and determine the level of risk posed to the company by these individuals. Following completion of the POI investigation, you will draft a BOLO and disseminate it to the appropriate colleagues. You will also work to identify trends amongst known risks and threats to Splunk. You will work with other elements of Splunk Safety & Security, to include the Global Security Coordination Center, Health & Safety, and Security Operations, to help keep Splunkers safe at work and during business travel.
Responsibilities:
- Use multiple intelligence sources to identify and investigate potential risks and threats to Splunk employees, assets, and executives
- Develop intelligence products for internal or external distribution
- Provide timely notification to partners of potential security threats
- Participate in Safety & Security incident response by providing relevant updated threat information
- Collaborate with other departments and partners (such as Cyber Security, Facilities, Legal, and HR) to resolve security threats or incidents
- Find opportunities improve the way analysis is conducted and collaborate with the Protective Intel PM to develop and implement process improvements
- Conduct risk assessments for Splunk Executives, events, and assets
- Identify gaps in intelligence sources and work with the Protective Intel PM to fill those gaps
- Identify risk and threat trends
- Conduct background checks on Persons of Interest (POIs)
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in an intelligence role
- Demonstrated ability to deconstruct information and situations to formulate logical and objective conclusions from fact, data, and observations
- Demonstrated experience developing briefing products for wide dissemination
- Strong customer service and social skills and ability to collaborate across business units to accomplish assigned tasks
- Demonstrated experience operating in a diverse, complex, and dynamic environment with competing demands
- Great demeanor and partner-facing attitude, including being reliable, effective, personable and efficient
- Passionate about building and maintaining a safe and secure work environment for all Splunkers
- Ability to perform research and draft briefing products with limited oversight
