Splunk's Web Technology team is a dynamic, best-in-class, talented set of individuals who partner with other digital marketing functions to execute, define and govern digital marketing strategies. As a Sr Full Stack Java Microservices Developer, you’ll be responsible for implementing backend solutions to integrate other internal and/or 3rd party systems/api’s for the Digital Marketing team to meet Splunk’s Marketing goals. The ideal candidate should have relevant and extensive experience focused on technical delivery and have an excellent executive presence. You will work with internal Marketing, IT, and Product Engineering teams to build and sustain Web sites/applications. You are highly motivated, reliable, detailed, and driven to produce high-quality work. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This reports to Director, Web Technology.


  • Build backend components for web applications using Java, Microservices on Cloud, other state-of-the-art technologies, and integration patterns.
  • Advocate and implement the latest Web/Digital Marketing Solutions and Strategies
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Microservices best practices with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
  • Experience in developing Front End applications and API calls
  • Build scalable and testable software using modern technologies
  • Work in agile, rapid development, and prototyping environment
  • Implement best development methodologies and standards.
  • Participate in software architecture, design, and development.


  • B.S. or M.S. preferably in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience with Strong CS foundation.
  • 8+ years of experience with architecture/developing backend services/microservices using Java, Spring Boot, REST with SOLID principles
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing the applications, building development, and operational knowledge in AWS Cloud and Kubernetes environments with Docker containerization
  • 2+ years of Angular/NodeJS programming expertise
  • Experience with microservices and Kubernetes
  • Experience in front-end technologies, including Bootstrap, JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as ReactJS, AngularJS, and jQuery
  • Experience with Security frameworks (e.x. JWT, OAuth2) desired but not required
  • Knowledge of Adobe AEM or any other CMS is a plus
  • Experience with development tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, JS debugger, lint, etc.
  • Experience in understanding large and complex code bases, including API design techniques to help keep them clean and maintainable.
  • Ideally working experience with CI/CD pipeline and CDN like Akamai, Cloudflare, etc.
  • Familiarity with databases including MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL and caching mechanisms such as Redis and Memcached.
