We are seeking an outstanding pre-sales leader to join our team as Director of Federal Civilian Agencies, Solutions Engineering (Pre-sales). In addition to requisite passion, skills and experience, you possess a measurable track record in building and leading high performing organizations. You will play a meaningful role driving a significant share of revenue for Splunk.
Responsibilities:
Lead and foster an open and inclusive Solutions Engineering organization of first line Managers and Solutions Engineering staff
Possess extensive knowledge of the Federal market, Federal Civilian Agencies, and working knowledge of customers and partners
Leverage your experience as a manager of managers, directly leading pre-sales teams and working closely with sales, customers success and professional services functions focused on driving high levels of engagement and performance
Ensure consistent, foundational, and customer oriented Solutions Engineering activities are delivered to meet and exceed customer outcomes and value through account planning, presales activities, solution design, adoption and expansion strategies
- Hire and support talent development and role readiness for Managers and Solutions Engineering staff
Partner strategically and tactically with Sales Leadership across the territory including planning, strategic and tactical activities, and technical forecasting while helping deliver customer outcomes and business targets
Provide timely and insightful input to Solutions Engineering leadership and other corporate functions, particularly Sales, Product Management and Marketing
Influence key decisions across cross-functional organizations and at the internal and external executive management level
Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of SE Leadership experience
10 years professional experience
Software Sales Engineering experience
Federal experience is a firm requirement
- Highly preferred location in the Washington DC Metro region

OTE Pay Ranges
For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans).
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
On Target Earnings: $268,000.00 - 368,500.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states.
On Target Earnings: $256,000.00 - 352,000.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
