Splunk Platform is looking for a seasoned engineering leader to help develop and grow our Platform Security Services organization. These services must provide a robust set of security capabilities that are foundational to the Splunk cloud platform, and can be leveraged across all new/existing Splunk products and services. This is a highly visible role within Splunk, and will have a roadmap to unlock Splunk’s success in the cloud.

You are someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a successful record of technical expertise and management responsibility. You will be responsible for driving your team to work closely across multiple engineering areas and locations. As we drive forward for the success of our customers you will hold the team accountable to achieve goals of engineering excellence and product value.

You will partner closely with your peers across all engineering areas as well as product management, program management, SRE, SDET, and UX. We want you to enable every team member to do the best work of their lives.

This is a high demand and this role requires a strong leader who brings a ton of empathy while holding the line of high quality and frequent product releases. You will provide enough structure to bring about prioritization of work that has the biggest impact for Splunk’s customers, while allowing flexibility and empowerment of teams to deliver beyond our customers’ expectations.

Requirements

  • Experience leading organizations in delivering cloud systems at scale via the DevSecOps model.
  • A proven track record of setting strategic direction of large-scale organizations to achieve security, data protection, auditing, data governance and security administration for customers.
  • Experience hiring and developing of engineers who recognize that operations is part of your job responsibility and ensure delivery of quality services which reduce incidents and focus on the success of our customers
  • Developing team identity (vision, mission, charter), empowering direct reports and building career growth options for your team
  • Develop partnerships with internal security organizations, external open source communities and vendors as appropriate to enable a secure platform for customers.
  • Experience managing customer escalations and training engineers how to work with customers
  • BS CS/EE or equivalent with 15+ years of industry experience, of which 5+ years is in Engineering Management
