Design Program Manager Intern (Summer 2021)

Design Program Managers at Splunk are creative problem solvers and phenomenal communicators who embrace change. 

Your primary objective as a DPM Intern at Splunk is to aid your Sr. DPM coach - and the UX Design Team that you both support - through a specific project. You will gain a strong understanding of the design process through analysis and systems creation, as well as through day-to-day interaction with the design and research teams. You will learn to assess situational needs in a fast-paced creative organization, and build relationships within the cross-functional partnerships of Product Design,  UX Research, Product Management and Engineering. 

As a DPM Intern, you’ll also be a crucial part of a team of like-minded design program managers, who collaborate and share insights and best practices. You must have the drive and curiosity to understand multiple subject areas. These are not limited only to products, but also design practices, team health, and product management process/procedures.



  • High-level of attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Possess analytical and communication skills, and a risk mitigation mindset
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to adapt to changing situations  
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving and working in teams 
  • Familiarity with Design Org capabilities: UX Research, UI/UX Design, Design Technology and Motion Graphics Design
  • Familiarity with design & project management tools including but not limited to: Figma, Trello, Asana, GSuite and JIRA
  • Familiarity with software development process: the basics of research & design through implementation
  • Technical acumen is a plus, with basic knowledge of key web and software development technologies
  • Partner with the Sr. DPM, UX Manager and Director of UX and serve as a source of organized information for the projects you own 
  • Must actively be enrolled in school after the internship ends (Dec. 2021 or later)
