Customer Reliability Engineer Intern - Remote US Fall 2023

Splunk is looking for a Customer Reliability Engineer Intern for Fall 2023! You will work on a real project (or a few) and have an opportunity to enjoy our dynamic, startup-like environment. You will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills which separate our teams from others. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams, receive mentorship, and gain insight into our values-driven process. Our goal is both to support your growth and development while empowering you for a successful start to your career.

Team:

The Splunk Customer Reliability Engineering team is made up of people who are authoritative in the Splunk Enterprise Cloud Service. We're viewed as one of the most helpful and effective teams within Splunk.

We're looking for a hardworking technical problem solver to join our team and help contribute to our success.

Our team has a broad charter, ensuring our customers have the most fabulous experience using our service. We accomplish this by being hands-on throughout our customers’ journeys. We help our partner teams resolve complex and difficult customer issues. Our team members are huge believers in automation and avoiding rote error-prone manual tasks and strive for cohesive automation. We employ a Site Reliability Engineering mentality in our problem solving and our solutions.

We take insights from our experiences and work with various groups like engineering, platform, app ecosystem, and product management to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of our service.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage with Leadership, business partners, internal team members, and collaborators to support initiatives for our organization’s most critical business priorities and initiatives.
  • Help develop a keen understanding of the Splunk product.
  • Dive into technical issues to establish the root cause of problems and form solutions or workarounds across a variety of environments.
  • Take the findings from solving problems and use them to drive product and service improvement.
  • Understand and adapt to collaborating teams' constraints and work towards mutual understanding with the goal of improving our processes, products, and services.

Basic Requirements:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement
  • At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship
  • Available to work 40 hours a week for 15 weeks from September-December

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with languages like Python or Golang.
  • Experience solving problems from an analytical standpoint and developing decisions based on facts and data.
  • Excitement for learning about the Splunk product from scratch
  • Demonstrated ability to learn
  • Passion for empowering and enabling others.
  • Drive to strive for common ground.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
