The Splunk Community comprises of a thriving group of passionate experts, engaged knowledge sharers and curious new users. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organized candidate to join the team as a Community Specialist.

This key role focuses on driving and elevating engagement within Splunk's Slack Community workspace.

As a Community Specialist, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop programs and initiatives that create a positive and value-driven environment for our customers and users. By employing engagement, marketing, and moderation tactics, this role will cultivate a collaborative and inclusive culture, creating a dynamic community destination for Splunk staff, partners, and customers.

What you'll get to do


  • Lead the management of Splunk’s Community Slack workspace to ensure a welcoming, respectful, and collaborative atmosphere.
  • Be accountable for the growth and success of the Slack workspace by driving engagement, fostering community, and ensuring a smooth user experience.
  • Design and implement an effective onboarding process for new members, providing them with the resources and support to thrive in the community.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and roll out community-centric programs and initiatives within the Slack workspace.
  • Plan and execute events within Slack to drive engagement and foster community.
  • Advocate for a positive culture of engagement, aligning the user community with Splunk community guidelines.
  • Serve as the go-to Community team contact for all things related to the Slack workspace.
  • Responsible for monitoring key performance metrics and assessing overall community health to drive engagement and user satisfaction.
  • Take on additional community-related projects and tasks, based on your skills and interests.

Must-have Qualifications


  • Minimum of 3 years experience building Slack communities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and support community members in all different stages and levels of the community journey. 
  • Proven experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve community goals.
  • Ability to analyze and report on community metrics to provide insights for improvement.
  • Strong interest in technology and the use of different platforms.
  •  Proven ability in moderating discussions to maintain a positive and respectful community environment.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and social communication skills in English required; bilingualism is a plus

Base Pay Range
Costa Rica

Base Pay: CRC 12,800,000.00 - 17,600,000.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
