Modernizing the Mission: Splunk Victoria Experience is Now Authorized at FedRAMP High
Industries Bill RowanKey takeaways
- Splunk Victoria Experience is now FedRAMP High authorized, bringing its latest cloud capabilities to high compliance environments.
- Victoria Experience offers a more self service, scalable platform that reduces manual administration for customers.
- New Splunk Cloud deployments use Victoria Experience, with migrations planned for existing FedRAMP customers.
For public sector organizations and other highly regulated industries, the balance between cutting-edge innovation and strict compliance has often felt like a trade-off. You want the latest features, but security and authorization come first.
Today, we’re closing that gap. We’re excited to share that, following our FedRAMP Moderate authorization earlier this year, Splunk Victoria Experience has now officially achieved FedRAMP High authorization as well. Splunk Victoria Experience serves as the backbone of our platform’s latest evolution, powering breakthroughs in data management, cost-effective storage, AI-driven insights, and next-gen federated search.
This means that government agencies and their partners can now leverage our most advanced, self-service cloud architecture while meeting the rigorous security requirements of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
What is Victoria Experience?
If you’ve been using Splunk Cloud Platform for a while, you might be familiar with the classic experience. While classic is robust, it often requires manual backend configurations or support tickets for certain tasks.
Victoria Experience is our evolved, next-generation architecture. It’s designed to be more intuitive, more scalable, and most importantly, more geared for self-service. Victoria is built to make your life as an admin or practitioner significantly easier.
Why This Matters for You
Achieving FedRAMP High isn’t just a "check-the-box" exercise. It unlocks several key benefits for organizations handling sensitive data:
- Self-Service Everything: One of the biggest shifts in Victoria is more simplified architecture design in VE. This allows for self-service app installation and management. No more waiting for support tickets to get the tools you need.
- Massive Scalability: The architecture is built to scale elastically. As your data needs grow, especially during critical events, Victoria scales with you without the manual overhead typically associated with legacy cloud environments.
- Security by Design: With FedRAMP High authorization, you have the assurance that the Victoria Experience meets over 300 security controls designed to protect highly sensitive (but unclassified) government data.
Is Your Environment Ready?
New Splunk Cloud Platform deployments will be provisioned on Victoria Experience. If you’re an existing customer, you might be wondering which experience you’re currently running on.
A quick way to check is to look at your Splunk Cloud URL or check the “About” section in your Splunk instance. If you see a simplified app management page and don't have to manage search head bundles manually, you’re likely already enjoying the Victoria life.
The Bottom Line
Security shouldn't be a bottleneck for innovation. By bringing Victoria Experience into the FedRAMP High boundary, we’re giving our customers the best of both worlds: the freedom to move fast and the security to sleep soundly.
We’re excited to see how our public sector customers use these new capabilities to drive better insights and stronger security postures. While new deployments will be on Victoria Experience by default, we’re actively working to migrate our existing customers in FedRAMP moderate and are planning to initiate migrations for FedRAMP High environment soon as well.
