What is San Francisco weather like in August?

Mark Twain once said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was the summer in San Francisco." Average temperatures are between 55-68° F. This is not Southern California. It gets downright chilly!

Ummm, so what should I pack?

Layers, layers, layers. Make sure to bring a jacket. Unexpected upswells from the deep and frosty Pacific Ocean and chilling blasts sweep over San Francisco without notice and can change the weather in an instant. Overall, jeans, light sweaters, long sleeve shirts and close-toed shoes make up the typical San Franciscan's wardrobe. Unless you're Mick, the Irishman in support. He dons shorts most of the year. He also drinks a lot of whiskey ... coincidence?

How do I get from the airport to .conf2011?

Taxi: Rate from the airport is approximately $45.00 each way. (San Jose is double.)

Shuttle: SuperShuttle operates in the Bay Area. The fare is $19 each way. Please call 800-258-2836 to make a reservation. You may also make a reservation online at www.supershuttle.com
