US Army Authorizes Splunk with Certificate of Networthiness (CoN)

Authorization Underscores Broad US Federal Market Adoption Across all Sectors; Technology Offers Agencies More Complete View of their Threat Landscape

SAN FRANCISCO – JUNE 14, 2010 – Splunk today announced that its software, also named Splunk, has been awarded a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) from the US Army. This highly regarded authorization places Splunk on the Army authorized products list, enabling the entire US Army and Department of Defense organizations operating within the Army's enterprise infrastructure to use Splunk for real-time search and analysis of terabytes of data across the Army's IT infrastructure.

"The US Army and approximately 70 percent of all US federal agencies rely on Splunk for real-time visibility of their IT data for security, compliance and application availability," said Tony Ayaz, vice president of federal sales, Splunk. "Our extensive work in the civilian sector and within the DoD gives us unique insight into the daily challenges of managing and monitoring mission critical data – often in the terabytes. The Certificate of Networthiness from the US Army demonstrates the value that Splunk delivers in monitoring and securing our country's critical data."

Constantly evolving threats make the business of securing our nation's systems increasingly complex. Splunk equips federal agencies with the ability to search, monitor and analyze both real-time and historical IT data. The ability to index weeks, months or years of any type of machine-generated data provides these organizations with a single view into the activity, behaviors and events across their networks and applications. By presenting a holistic view to investigate incidents and perform complex security analysis, Splunk offers a level of troubleshooting, network and application security never before available to federal agencies.
