Splunk Appoints Tom Schodorf as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations

Accomplished Technology and Sales Veteran to Fuel the Global Growth of IT Search

SAN FRANCISCO – October 6, 2009 – Splunk, the IT Search company, today announced that Tom Schodorf, former vice president and general manager of BMC Software, has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations. Schodorf's experience includes domestic and international sales and executive management positions at BMC Software and IBM spanning the past 26 years.

Schodorf spent 17 years at BMC in a number of executive positions, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of the Identify business unit. While at Identify, Schodorf led R&D, sales and marketing with full P&L responsibility. Schodorf also led BMC Software’s Asia-Pacific team, based in Singapore, and the U.S. Commercial division. Prior to BMC Software, Schodorf was a sales executive with IBM for over nine years.
