Splunk Named Among "Best Places to Work" in Bay Area, Again
San Francisco Business Times Recognizes Splunk's Commitment to Employees
SAN FRANCISCO – May 5, 2009 – Splunk, the IT Search company, today announced the San Francisco Business Times ranked Splunk 29th in their annual list of "Best Places to Work" 2009. Awarded to the top 100 companies in the Bay Area, this award is based upon surveys completed by 61% of company employees. Prestigious honor is given to the most outstanding companies to work for based on a ranking solely comprised from employee surveys. This is the second year in a row Splunk was recognized with this award.
"Without our employees, Splunk would not be the company it is today or on such a fast trajectory. Few companies are experiencing growth like Splunk during these challenging times," said Sheren Bouchakian, VP of Human Resources, Splunk. "Being ranked highly among the best companies to work for by the San Francisco Business Times is a true representation of our commitment to our employees and it reflects their hard work, dedication and loyalty to Splunk." She added, "Our employees represent the best and brightest in the industry and we are incredibly appreciative of each one of them."
The overall goal of the San Francisco Business Times in announcing the "Best Places to Work" is to give proper recognition to companies within the Bay Area that promote a positive workplace experience where employees enjoy coming to work everyday.
Employees were tasked with completing a survey that was completely voluntary, requiring personal time to be taken in order to supply the answers. The questions on the survey inquired about workplace satisfaction, personal growth opportunities and managerial effectiveness. Employees were asked to rate each question on a scale of one to 10, indicating how well your employer satisfied the inquiry, which included potential for career growth and foreseen future with the company. Results from the employee surveys were overwhelmingly positive.
"The energy at Splunk is like no other company that I’ve ever worked for," said Erin Sweeney at Splunk. "When you have such a solid core group of coworkers, and founders who aren’t afraid of breaking the mold, coming to work everyday isn’t a task, it's fun and something I look forward to doing."
In addition to this recognition, Splunk’s recent list of accomplishments includes:- Year over year growth over 85% (2008 vs. 2007)

- Winner 2009 SC Magazine Award, Europe: Best Integrated Security Solution
