Ravi,

I installed syslog-ng on my Splunk server, then collected syslogs from other non-Splunk AIX hosts to a /server filessystem on my Splunk server. Then I simply asked Splunk to crawl and monitor /server.
Does that make any sense? Your post is a little old, but feel free to contact me if you need any help with this.
