Could you provide some specific examples of monitoring disk usage, invalid logins etc.. in a Windows systems? I tried diskspace <= 10% etc...

You should probably look at either the Windows or the Unix app in Splunk, as appropriate for your installation. (You can do both, but by default Windows installations set up the Windows app, etc.)
