About the deployment section

The following section is intended as an overview for Splunk administrators who are interested in configuring a Splunk deployment. It contains descriptions of the various deployment options, including links to configuration instructions in later sections. Choose a Deployment Model describes, at a high level, the variety of options you have for setting up a Splunk deployment. The remaining pages in this section move through other options you may want to consider for your Splunk deployment. This section has a great deal of in-depth information on Splunk deployments that you may find helpful even if you already know how you want to configure your deployment.
