Splunk 3.0 GA Release Expands IT Search Capabilities

More Than 2500 Beta Users Contribute to Final Release

SAN FRANCISCO – August 6, 2007 – Splunk, creators of the original IT Search engine for logs and IT data, today announced general availability of Splunk 3.0. More than 2500 users downloaded Splunk 3.0 beta, applying IT Search to problems beyond the scope of log management and troubleshooting. New interactive filtering and dashboard features in Splunk 3.0 now let customers apply the power of IT search to security, compliance and performance management. New data input options help customers see further than logs into configurations, messages and metrics across all the heterogeneous components of a modern IT infrastructure. Users who downloaded 3.0 are among some of the most sophisticated technology professionals from the world’s largest organizations across Fortune 500 companies, service providers and government agencies. Response to the latest Splunk innovations, its new features, and capabilities has been enthusiastic. Many of the customer comments and ideas from the beta have already made the Splunk 3.0 GA richer in functionality.
