Jef Bekes Creative Director
Jef leads Splunk's user experience design and branding efforts. Essentially, his mission is to crack the UI code - how to design in support of disruptive products. For Jef, the experience has to pass his test: is it simple, yet powerful? Can someone seeing it for the first time figure out how it works? Does it continue to reveal more as the user digs deeper? Whether it’s art, science or just knowing when it's right, it’s Jef's job to bring it together for the user.
Jef has led the design of several products, including Collation's Configuration Management Database (acquired by IBM), Infoseek's suite of community applications, and Avolent's OFX transaction systems. He also has broad experience in the interactive agency world, with key leadership positions at Digitas and Rare Medium where he worked on accounts like Microsoft, Borland and Netscape.
